Bio

Originally from Rochester, NY, Abby Fenn is an artist currently living and working in Boston, MA. She received her BFA in painting and graphic design from Boston University in 2021.

Abby works as a studio assistant for artists Lucy Kim and Yu-Wen Wu while continuing to grow her own material and process based studio practice. Her practice focuses on textiles, patterns, and objects from her childhood and home. These items include a quilt made by her grandmother, crosswords completed by her grandfather, pins collected by her sister, and other cherished objects. Her experimental studio practice centers around materiality, memory, and play.

Recently, she was included in Cambridge Art Association’s “BLUE 2023 Exhibit” where she received the Emerging Artist Award for her piece “Quilt Pattern: White Dots.” Fenn’s work has also been shown at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs NY, Prism Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and Delaplaine Arts Center in Fredrick, MD.
